Religion has always made us feel that we must persuade God to give us a better life or to fulfill His promises. But the truth is, God more passionately wants you to have a better life than you desire or deserve.
His name is Jehovah Who provides, not Jehovah Who takes away!
The most consistent lie of Luciferian-influenced doctrine is God wants you to suffer, God must be appeased through your sacrifice, and He is a hard taskmaster. In the Old Testament God said He wanted us to obey Him from our heart so life would go well for us and we would love Him. Knowing Him as our loving source leads us to trust Him and experiencing Him as our generous provider causes us to love Him. After all, His name is Jehovah Who provides, not Jehovah Who takes away!
In Psalm 81:10-16 God tells Israel how He wanted so much better for them than they received. Since they didn’t believe His name, character or promises they settled for what they could get through their own limited trust. It’s what Jesus called little faith, i.e. little trust for God and only willing to believe for little things. In verse 10 God says, Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.
Jehovah Who provides wants to fill us with good things. Everything God ever tells us to do is for our good, not His. We are the beneficiaries of our obedience, not because obedience earns from God, but obedience trusts and follows God into the best life available.
God never violates our will.
In verse 11 He continues, But My people would not heed My voice… So I gave them over to their own stubborn heart, to walk in their own counsels (12). God never violates our will. When we choose to harden our hearts and resist His leadership, He has no choice but to allow us to follow our own path. Therefore, when hardship comes into our life, i.e. when we reap what we sow, it is never God taking action against us; it is the fruit of our beliefs and actions. It is the destination of the path we chose to walk!
He is always trying to lead us to a better quality of life!
Oh, that My people would listen to Me, That Israel would walk in My ways! I would soon subdue their enemies (13). Walking in His ways does not earn us the good things of God! Walking in His ways leads us to the good things of God! If we choose not to follow as our Shepherd attempts to lead us out of the valley of the shadow of death, that is where we will remain. He is always trying to lead us to a better quality of life! When we settle for what/where we are, it indicates our limited view and lack of trust for God to fulfill His promises to us! But He is always offering better!
He would have fed them also with the finest of wheat; and with honey from the rock I would have satisfied you (16). They settled for water from the rock when they could have had honey. In Psalm 78:14 He explained that they were the ones who limited Him. He was offering more, but they settled! In our minds we perceive God as the One who is limiting the quality of our lives. But, in fact, it is our lack of knowledge and trust in God’s true nature, character and goodness.
The number one cause of a limited life results from our hearts not being established in the New Covenant.
In Psalm 78:37 He explains the root of this tendency to limit God: For their heart was not steadfast with Him, Nor were they faithful in His covenant. The number one cause of a limited life results from our hearts not being established in the New Covenant. The great majority of believers either do not know or do not believe the New Covenant! They know there is a New Covenant; they just do not know its provisions!
The New Covenant was made between God the Father and the Lord Jesus as a result of Jesus’ resurrection from the dead. God established what the Bible calls the Covenant of Peace with Jesus (Isaiah 54:10). Jesus received all the inheritance, all that was the Fathers He received, along with the promise of never facing wrath again and always abiding in God’s kindness.
When we are born again we are baptized into the Lord Jesus; therefore, we enter into that same covenant with Him and share His inheritance. Because we are in Him we have peace with God, we have His righteousness, we are seated with Him at the right hand of God and we have open access to the Father.
All the promises are ours and none of the curses are ours. He accomplished all this and it is our responsibility to believe and receive it on the basis of Jesus’ finished work!
Jesus came to Earth, was crucified, became our sin, took our punishment, conquered our sin and death, was raised up by His faith in the promises of God, sealed the New Covenant in His blood and obtained an inheritance whereby He offers us abundant life, i.e. the quality of life possessed by God! When we believe, receive and settle for anything less we are limiting God; we are limiting what Jesus died to give us!
I want to help you expand your trust for the goodness of God! I want to help you close the gap between what Jesus died to give you and what you are experiencing!
