So very often Jesus would say, “Do this first.” For example, if you have a debt to a brother and you’re standing at the altar praying, leave your gift at the altar and resolve the issue, then give your gift (Matthew 5:23-24). In establishing priorities for our life, Jesus instructed, “Seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness” (Matthew 6:33).
When we fail to pursue goals, live our dreams or solve our problems out of priority, we can create more problems than we solve. We work very hard at the wrong thing, we violate the 80/20 rule and even when we win the battle, it’s the wrong battle.
