The truth is He doesn’t! Too often we look at something that occurred in the Old Testament and fail to consider how it might have changed in the New Covenant. Satan’s access to Heaven ended when Jesus rose from the dead, stripped him of all power and position, and cast him out of Heaven.
I often ask people where they stand with the devil and I usually get an unusual look followed by, “I don’t know what you mean.” Once I get their attention I explain, “Do you see him as he was before the resurrection or after the resurrection?” Until we see him after the resurrection we will not live in the absolute victory Jesus purchased for us.
