“The Israelites were delivered from Egypt and brought into the Promised Land on a promise God made to Abraham. We are delivered from the world and brought into the kingdom on the promises made to Jesus!”In Exodus, when Moses asked God His name, the Hebrew translation implies God said something like this: I am who I am, I am what I am, I am what will be, I am who I will be. God exists independently of any other force or person.  This phrase is filled with insights about God. This reveals the consistency and congruence of God, His Word, His name, and all His actions. There is no separating God from what He does and possibly, more than anything, God is revealing His unchanging nature.

The Israelites had been in Egypt for around 400 years. They had become slaves and were severely oppressed. All they knew about God was what He had done for their forefathers. The only promises they knew of were the ones to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. They needed to know that God had not changed and neither had His promises.

They were a type of us, in Jesus. God made a covenant with Jesus but because we are in Him His promises are sure to us. The Israelites were delivered from Egypt and brought into the Promised Land on a promise God made to Abraham. We are delivered from the world and brought into the kingdom on the promises made to Jesus! JOIN ME this week and discover what it really means to believe in The Name of Jesus.
