In order to live a judgment-free life, you must make these five determinations:

Our judgments about God and others determine what we see and experience with them, and ultimately, our reactions to them. It’s our guilty conscience, more than anything else, that shapes our judgments of God’s motives. According to Colossians 1:21, our guilty conscience makes us feel like we’re enemies of God. We’ve never been His enemies. This verse doesn’t say that we are alienated from God; it says that because we view ourselves as enemies of God, we alienate ourselves. We pull away from Him because we fear punishment and project our fears and guilt onto Him.

So, how do we live without judgment of God and others? We understand that (1) how we feel about God and others is determined by our judgments more than by the reality of the situation. (2) how we see it isn’t how it really is; it’s simply the way we see it. Our perception and feelings aren’t an accurate perception of reality. (3) our view of others is determined by what we project onto them because we think they do things for the same reasons we do them. (4) the “measure we mete” is the measure that comes back to us, so we must sow good seed. (5) we must be merciful, kind, and patient, assured that we’ll continue in the path of love, reaping what we’ve planted.
