The person who believes and shares in the death, burial and resurrection doesn’t pray for deliverance from the power of sin; they declare it!The main reason we lose the battle against sin is the absence of knowing and believing what Jesus accomplished on the cross. When we accept Jesus as Lord, we are both born again and baptized into His body. As a result of being in Him we share in His every victory.

The Apostle Paul links our victory over sin to three very distinct things:

  1. “Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection; For the death that He died, He died to sin once for all; but the life that He lives, He lives to God,” Romans 6:10-11.
  2. Our belief that we died with Him to sin and were raised up over the power of sin; for he who has died has been freed from sin. Now if we died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with Him,” Romans 6:7-9.
  3. Choosing to believe our victory over sin is a settled fact; likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord,” Romans 6:11.

The person who believes and shares in the death, burial and resurrection doesn’t pray for deliverance from the power of sin; they declare it! They meditate, ponder and imagine themselves raised up with Christ until their heart is fully-persuaded. JOIN ME this week and enter into what Jesus did for you through the cross!
