In the Old Testament believers whose conscience was negatively affecting them, who for one reason or the other felt disconnected from God, knew that God initiated peace with them. God had given them a process whereby they could come to Him; if they had in some way defiled themselves they could present a purification offering, but then they would present a peace offering. This wasn’t an offering given in the hopes of obtaining peace; this was a celebration of the fact that they were at peace with God and He was at peace with them. Are you aware that God presented the perfect way He could have peace with the world? That’s right. God is at peace with you through the Lord Jesus Christ!
