In February I always focus my teaching on relationships because hopefully, that is already on your mind! Really, relationships – not just our marriage, but every aspect of relationships – should be very high on our list of priorities and personal development! After all, nothing reflects our true spirituality more than our ability to give and receive love, i.e. relationships!
We were created in the likeness and image of God. He is a social, emotional, relationship-oriented Being! The creation of the human race was an overflow of His nature of love! God’s love only reaches fulfillment when it is given away and experienced by the recipient! For God to be who He is and for Him to remain true to His personal identity He had to create a family of people who had the capacity to receive His love!
One of the many things that makes us uniquely human is our ability to give and receive God’s love. I don’t believe any other created being has this capacity as we do! All other beings were created, but we came forth from His very being. He spoke all of existence into being but breathed His own Spirit into us! So, my highest calling should be to walk in love: love God, love people, and be able to love (have the same value for) myself as God does!
