When we set goals that have a finish line, our heart and mind stops motivating us when we cross that finish line. Here’s a tip for making resolutions that last; and the great thing is, this will apply to any type of goal. Our mind works with goal setting the way we establish our goals. For example, a person who sets a goal to lose a certain amount of weight gets motivated and empowered and reaches their goal. Then, instantly, they start gaining weight. What happened? When we set goals that have a finish line, our heart and mind stops motivating us when we cross that finish line. For example, you set a goal to work a plan to lose 100 lbs. and you do; but the moment you reach that goal your internal motivation is gone. Set goals that don’t expire. Instead of, “I will lose 100 lbs.,” make it more like, “I only eat foods that are healthy, nutritious, and help me live my goals.” That’s a goal that has no finish line.
