This is a question I hear continually. Sadly, there was a time when I thought this because of what I was taught. But if the Old Covenant was based on fear then it would mean from the Old to the New God must have changed. But God doesn’t change! God has always been motivated by love. Trust is the number one factor in any relationship. Trust (faith) works by and flows effortlessly from love. In other words, when we know God is a God of love trusting Him becomes natural.
