You become convinced by what is true by where you habitually place your attention. Wavering doesn’t mean you don’t have faith; it means you believe for a while then you doubt for a while. It is the shifting back and forth between two positions. This is an easy problem to solve!

The people of faith discovered an incredible secret that kept them from wavering. It was all about where they focused their attention! Like us, these people of faith would have been tempted to turn back if they kept reflecting on the place from which they came, (Hebrews 11:15).

They believed God’s promises to be true, because they believed He was a good God, faithful to His word! Abraham learned one of the secrets of unshakable faith. Romans 4:21 tells us he became fully persuaded/convinced that God was able to do what He had promised.

Until we become fully persuaded we will waver. When we waver we cannot take hold of those promises which have been freely given through Jesus. Do whatever it takes to keep your focus on the promise of God, and whatever it takes to keep the promise before you. You become convinced of what is true by where you habitually place your attention.
