Quote for Blog - 022316True opportunity is more about perception than circumstance. Successful people have more capacity to recognize and seize situations that most people never really notice. There is an old story about a man who was sent to an island to sell shoes. He immediately called home and said, “There’s no opportunity here, everyone goes barefoot.” When his competition arrived on the same island he called the home office and said, “Send me all the shoes you can, no one here has shoes. We’re going to get rich!” The opportunity was in the perception.

The idea that education or coming from a certain family is what gives opportunity is only a half-truth. Education and family may condition you to look at the world differently, but no matter your background, you are surrounded by opportunity. Ecclesiastes 9:11 says, “The race is not to the swift, Nor the battle to the strong, Nor bread to the wise, Nor riches to men of understanding, Nor favor to men of skill; But time and chance happen to them all.” The real question is, do I recognize when the time and chance comes to me and do I act to seize the moment?

A heart that recognizes opportunity starts with the decision to live in the life and blessings of God. I will help prepare you to make this foundational decision in my series, The Supernatural Power of Making Decisions.

making decisions CDWhat I believe determines what I perceive and what my heart can perceive my heart can also receive! Once I begin to receive I get more of what I have. Now the immutable laws of the Kingdom of God work for me instead of against me.
