Faith works when we know God loves us and we trust Him enough to fall completely in love with Him.Sadly, that is what we are taught; but it is not true. God has always been the same: He always wanted a loving relationship; He provided all the truth we needed for an incredible life and our obedience was always supposed to be based on faith, i.e. trust, because we knew all He said was for our good!

Abraham was the father of faith. The Jews looked at Abraham as the model of how to relate to God! But fear-based interpretation and application of His Words crept in through their intermingling of occult doctrines and Scripture. Eventually, the Torah (God’s Word) was replaced with the Talmud (man’s tradition) and Israel became fear and works-based. They abandoned the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and replaced Him with the god of religion!

One of the greatest evidences of God relating to us by faith is the preeminence He placed on love. Faith (trust) works by love. We trust those we know love us. We do not trust those we fear! Our English concept of the fear of God is not remotely biblical. John explained that fear and love are mutually exclusive.

It is important that we understand faith doesn’t work just by knowing God loves us. Faith works when we know God loves us and we trust Him enough to fall completely in love with Him.
