Loneliness is one of the major emotional plagues of modern society. The irony is that we are constantly surrounded by people, yet, we feel more isolated and alone than previous generations who were actually geographically isolated. Many blame social media for this plague of disconnection. Social media is certainly a passive contributor to the problem but by no means the cause. When people have an inability, unwillingness or ignorance about what actually emotionally connects them to other human beings, their loneliness is exacerbated by the fact that they are surrounded by people, yet still feel alone.
As I have taught my children, the worst loneliness is not being alone; the worst loneliness is being surrounded by people and still feeling alone. JOIN ME this week and discover what the best book of psychology ever written, the Bible, says about how to create emotional connections with God and people!
