People who recover from their failures and deal with their sin are those who recognize and value the goodness of God.The Bible teaches that fear will cause a person to stop committing a sin, but only mercy will bring him to a place to actually purge it from his life. Fear is about the consequences we want to avoid, but it has nothing to do with changing the heart and its desires. Not sinning and having victory over sin are not the same thing! The person with a crooked heart only sees the goodness of God as an opportunity to get by with something without having to face the consequences.

People who recover from their failures and deal with their sin are those who recognize and value the goodness of God. In other words, when they do not experience wrath for their sins they don’t despise it, i.e. treat it with disinterest or count it as nothing. They want more than to just get by with it; they want to be restored to God!

When we truly realize God’s patience, goodness and forbearance we see it as an incredible expression of love which melts our hearts and draws us back to Him!
