The Apostle Paul was given the commission of revealing these “In Him” mysteries to the Gentile world. A mystery is hidden knowledge. Paul got his revelation from the Old Testament Scriptures that He could only properly interpret after coming to Jesus. Every place in the New Testament we see the words “in Him, through Him, with Him and by Him” is not passing reference, this is referring to that which exists and is only available to those who are in Jesus and believe these truths!

Paul recorded his prayer in Ephesians when he prayed for us to have revelation knowledge about three in Him realities. He prayed that we would have revelation about the hope of His calling. You notice he said “your calling.” We only realize our calling to the degree that we are locked into His calling. …the riches of the glory of His inheritance. We don’t have an inheritance with God, we share in His inheritance. And last he prayed we would grasp the resurrection power that raised Jesus from the dead which is at work in the believer. He then describes that power. It was the power that raised Him from the dead and crushed Satan under His feet – a victory we share because we are in Him!

Everything Paul taught was based on the in Him realities. Through Paul’s teaching we realize that in the New Covenant we have nothing apart from what is ours as a result of being in Christ.
