World Changer Letter: May 2017

I pray you are daily discovering the goodness and faithfulness of our heavenly Father! No matter what you’re facing, God wants you to not only come through it, He wants you to rise above it! And no matter how good your life is, His will is that it be as good as it would be in heaven, at this moment!

I know this sounds extraordinary, but we must realize giving and expressing life is God’s nature! How good He desires to be to us is not about what we deserve; it is the natural expression of His character and nature: identity! I know that for most of us, our life experience would stand in contradiction to such a bold statement. But I can assure you, God wants your life to be like heaven every day! Our limited belief in the greatness and goodness of God causes us to reduce the New Covenant to something that fits into the realm of our beliefs! Sadly, most of our beliefs have been shaped by our past experiences. We, like the children of Israel, have limited God to our low expectations!

The questions each of us must ask are, “Will I determine truth by what Jesus lived, taught and accomplished through the cross or, will I determine truth by my past experiences? Will I force God into my limited life experience or, will I allow my future life experience to become a reflection of His goodness?” I want to help you shape your future by the limitless power and endless love of Almighty God!

For this to happen, we must all be willing and ready to make a journey; to grow in wisdom, revelation knowledge, faith, and grace, all of which makes us more capable of a relationship with Him! Jesus could not have fulfilled His ministry and probably couldn’t have faced death and resurrection had He not developed himself. The Bible says He grew in wisdom, stature, and grace was upon Him (Luke 2:40). The grace that was upon Him was in direct proportion to His growth in the things of God! Not only do we have to see this as a journey, we have to understand the journey to which we have been called! That’s where I come in!

I am so excited about God I can hardly contain myself as I ponder the greatness of God and His wonderful intentions toward us! I keep having these internal eruptions of thanksgiving and praise! But, I’m not simply excited for me… I’m excited for you too! I have some things to share with you that I believe will continue to stabilize your faith in incredible ways! And remember… everything about our relationship with God is by faith (trust).

You know I’m not talking about the religious idea of faith where we try to believe hard enough to convince God to act on our behalf. I’m talking about the kind of faith that is the product of knowing God’s character and nature and trusting Him explicitly!

God sent Jesus into the world so we could experience what the language of the New Testament calls life! The Greek word for life is Zoe, which means: the quality of life possessed by the one giving it. Jesus is the human manifestation of the life of God (zoe); which means, the life He offers is the life of God! It has always been God’s will that we enjoy the same quality of life He experiences, now and throughout eternity!

As extreme as that seems, that is exactly what Jesus meant when He said, “I have come that they might have life (zoe) and have it abundantly (to the fullest)!” He came, taught, was crucified and overcame death so we could have God’s quality of life.

Some would say, “This is too good to be true,” or “No one can ever have that quality of life in this world.” The logical arguments are endless, but God has a different logic. His logic is called Great News, i.e. the Gospel, which is better than anyone has ever seen, heard or even imagined (1 Corinthians 2:9), but we’ve been conditioned to settle for much less than God is offering!

This means the litmus test for what we allow in our life should be based on these questions: “Is this something God would allow in His own life?” Or, ”Does the quality of my life reflect the quality of Jesus’ life?” How much or how little of the quality of life I am actually experiencing is not the real issue. The real issue is, “What am I willing to settle for?” “How little of what Jesus died to give me will I passively surrender in the face of challenges?”

Perceiving and thereby experiencing God as He is, is the reason for the Bible, the names of God, Christ coming to Planet Earth and the Holy Spirit being poured out. Seeing Him as He is will be the ultimate key to guarding our heart against deception. Seeing Him as He is, is the process of His life manifesting in me! To the degree I behold Him as He is will determine the degree my life will transform into His quality of life (1 John 3:2)!
