Judgment always ends in misunderstanding, and far too often conflict and pain.My entire Christian life I’ve heard people who were critical and judgmental pass it off as discernment. First of all, God would never tell us not to judge and then give us a gift of the Holy Spirit that leads us into judgment. Second, there is no gift of discernment; there is a gift of discerning spirits. Judgment is when we claim to know why someone does what they do.

Most of our judgments are actually projections. We project our motive onto others. In other words, when I do “this” I actually mean “this.” We assume others do things for the same reasons we do them. Judgment always ends in misunderstanding, and far too often conflict and pain.

JOIN ME this week as we discover how to deal with offenses without passing judgments, thereby avoiding unnecessary conflict and pain.
