The Greek New Testament reveals the reason birds of the air could steal the seed that had fallen on the hard ground is because it had not actually been planted in our heart. It was only information we held in our mind!
The words “devil” or “Satan,” point to slander and accusation. Satan doesn’t actually speak into your heart; he is incapable of speaking into our heart and mind. But when we believe the lies he has put into the world through religion more than the Word of God, through self-accusation or disqualification, we do his work in our mind and heart.
The only immunity to self-accusation and disqualification comes through believing the truth about who you are in Jesus. We are not personally worthy of the inheritance, but Jesus is. Since we are in Him we share in that inheritance.
