This entire weekend my head was spinning at the wonders of God. To be honest, I am daily amazed at the wisdom, integrity, faithfulness, and power of God and His Word! We are living in a day when people who think they are living by “revelation” are throwing away God’s Word as if it is meaningless. My heart hurts for those people and the masses they will lead astray.
Every word of God is tried and proven to be true and trustworthy. As for God, His way is perfect; The word of the Lord is proven; He is a shield to all who trust in Him (Ps. 18:30). The wisdom to navigate life is in His Word and is illuminated by His Spirit in our heart. It is the Word of God the Spirit actually speaks to guide us. No! It’s not the Holy Spirit quoting Scripture; it’s the Holy Spirit following the wisdom of God’s Word, showing us how to apply it to life and empowering us with grace to do it.
Sadly, there have been Religionists in the past who made the Word a means of legalistic control instead of a Book of God’s Wisdom. There will always be those who use the Word to force others to their way of thinking, but you know the difference; God’s Word is a revelation of Himself. It is God telling us who He is and what we can expect of Him. He wants us to know what He’s offering. He wants us to know what He expects from us and what we can expect from Him. And one thing is for sure, He is always faithful to His part of the deal.
In my new book, Apocalypse: A Spiritual Guide to the Second Coming, you will understand more about why people twist the Word of God and how to protect your heart. In fact, you will discover the true spiritual history of the world. When you realize how we got here, you will have no confusion about what’s happening in the world and how you can trust God to overcome that which will destroy most. I want everyone I can influence to be an over-comer! And speaking of the new book, we are making a special pre-publication offer! Check out the ad below.
When you were born again God wrote all of His Word on the deep part of your heart (the spirit part). It is our job to renew our intellectual mind (soul) with the written Word. When we renew our mind, our soul and our spirit are now in agreement. Then when we make a choice to put on the traits and character that Jesus demonstrated we are putting on the “new man” and the grace to live and be that new man comes alive in us (Eph. 4:20-24).
The more I study the Word, the more I discover about life, how to live, how to relate to people, how to help people, and how to do everything that is important. But keep this in mind: I am never studying God’s Word to find doctrine. When we read God’s Word we find what we look for… even if what we find does not align with the truth. That’s right! If we want to prove some crazy doctrine we’ll find a way to do it. We’ll find some isolated Scripture that, if twisted far enough, we can make it say what we need it to say. But if we’re looking for God’s wisdom, if we’re looking for a portrait of God’s character, if we’re looking for ways to be better at loving people, loving God, and loving ourselves, that’s what we’ll find!
I hope you are joining me for our weekly broadcast. It is my intention to unfold valuable points in God’s Word that will help you trust God fully. I want to equip you for the best life possible! That life is a combination of what God does and what we do, the Spirit and the Word, and Jesus’ faith and our faith. It is the outgrowth of a relationship of trust and love that will manifest itself in a life of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.
This month I am sharing a message with you that I call, My Journey with the Holy Spirit. I hope you enjoy it! Plus, the special series for this month will help you connect and flow with the Holy Spirit. It seems that as people have exalted the doctrine of grace they have forgotten about the person and work of the Holy Spirit. This is a fatal mistake. Without the Spirit breathing life into us and us experiencing it our walk with God will soon become dull, empty, dry, and meaningless. Eventually it will become an egocentric pursuit that exalts knowledge but is void of power.
When I was a student in Bible College our president told us, “You can dry up, blow up, or grow up!” He went on to explain, “The Word without the Spirit will cause you to dry up. The Spirit without the Word will cause you to blow up. The Word and the Spirit will cause you to grow up.” I want to grow up in Him. And since there is no end to knowing God this means every day will be new and richer than the day before. Plus, I know as a World Changer you share this sentiment with me, I want to lay hold of that for which Christ has laid hold of me (Phil. 3:12).
Be sure to join me for what I believe is going to be a “Holy Spirit gathering” at World Changers Weekend July 17-19th. This year our weekend together is going to be more experiential than informational. As always I will provide some meaningful teaching for you, but you are also going to hear the personal journeys of people who had to rediscover their “first love.” Plus, we are going to have great worship! There will also be a special meeting for pastors, ministers, and church leaders. There is no registration fee for the weekend but registration is required because we always have limited space.
Thank you for your continued support. Each year we reach farther and more effectively than the year before! Together we are reaching One Billion People with the message of the Kingdom and together we are changing the way the world sees God!
Again, I hope to see you in July for World Changers Weekend! You don’t want
