What scares the devil?
Most Christians could probably give some kind of biblical answer to that question. But knowing the right answer and understanding what it means in real life are two very different things.
In Episode 2 of In His Image, I want to take you deeper into what it actually means when God says, “Let Us make man in Our image, according to Our likeness; let them have dominion” (Genesis 1:26).
In the ancient world, an image represented the authority of a king. When a king conquered a territory, he would place his image there as a reminder of who ruled that land.
Think about what that means when God says you were created in His image.
You were created to represent Him on planet Earth. You were created to live in harmony with His character, His purposes, and His authority.
And that begins to answer the question: What scares the devil?
The devil doesn’t want you discovering who God created you to be. He doesn’t want you understanding the authority God gave mankind. And he certainly doesn’t want you learning how to live that out in your everyday life.
We can quote that we have the mind of Christ, but if we don’t think like Jesus, that Scripture isn’t transforming our lives. We can know what the Bible says about our identity and authority, but until those truths become real in our hearts, they remain information instead of transformation.
This is where In His Image starts becoming incredibly practical.
God didn’t create you to spend your life trying to become powerful enough to defeat the devil. He created you in His image. The question is whether you will discover what that means and begin living from that reality.

Ministry Isn’t About Running Meetings. It’s About Developing People.
You don’t need a pulpit to disciple someone. Some of the most powerful ministry happens around a kitchen table, over coffee, during a family Bible study, or in a one-on-one conversation with someone seeking guidance.
Adapted, expanded, and renewed by Dr. Jim Richards and Denise Capra, Effective Small Group Ministry is designed to help you become more effective in ministering to people in nearly every area of your life. Whether you facilitate a formal group or simply want to lead more meaningful spiritual conversations, this book provides the practical tools you need to guide people from Believer to Disciple to Leader.
What You’ll Discover Inside
Jesus didn’t just tell His disciples what to believe—He modeled truth, involved them directly, discussed their real experiences, and sent them out to do the same.
This book gives you the actionable framework to follow that model:
- Facilitate Deep Conversations: Learn to ask better questions that prompt real heart transformation rather than surface-level answers.
- Focus on Application: Help people put Scripture into practice rather than merely accumulate information.
- Master One-on-One Discipleship: Build confidence in personal, individual ministry settings.
- Create a Safe Environment: Build spaces where people feel secure enough to open up, participate, and grow.
Multiply Your Impact: Recognize potential, nurture giftings, and raise up new leaders who can develop others.
